Columbus Crew SC made fairly easy work of the Richmond Kickers, defeating the USL side 3-1 in a fourth-round US Open Cup match at Richmond City Stadium to kick off Wednesday’s slate of games.

Debuting a 3-5-2 formation, as opposed to head coach Gregg Berhalter’s normal 4-2-3-1, Crew SC forward Adam Bedell notched a brace in his first real action of the season with goals on either end of halftime. Ethan Finlay added a 42nd-minute goal that broke a 1-1 tie.

It was a tale of two halves on Saturday as Columbus Crew SC and the LA Galaxy played to a 1-1 draw following a delayed kickoff because of a weather delay.

Thanks to a slow-moving storm cell that hovered over MAPFRE Stadium for longer than most anticipated, kickoff was delayed by more than two hours, with the game getting underway around 9:45 p.m. ET.

Montreal Impact’s road nightmare is over, with a 2-1 win over Columbus Crew SC on Saturday night at MAPFRE Stadium ending their 25-game winless streak in MLS away from home that started at the end of the 2013 season.

Second-half goals from Maxim Tissot and Andres Romero did the trick for the surging Impact, who have now won four of their last five to move into a tie for seventh place in the Eastern Conference with 14 points from 10 matches.

Fueled by goals from C.J. Sapong, Vincent Nogueira and Sebastien Le Toux, the Union blitzed Columbus Crew SC 3-0 on Wednesday night in front of an elated crowd at PPL Park.

Le Toux, Cristian Maidana and Sheanon Williams added assists, and Brian Sylvestre earned his third shutout in five games for the Union (4-8-3), who have now won three of their last four following a dreadful 1-7-3 start to the year.
