Columbus Crew SC earned their second win over the Chicago Fire in four days with a 3-1 scoreline Sunday in MAPFRE Stadium.

The match was a wild one, with three goals scored in the opening 16 minutes and multiple controversial referee decisions along the way. But it was the typical faces of Kei Kamara, Ethan Finlay and Federico Higuain who made the difference for Columbus.

Columbus Crew SC scored their first road win of the season as they overcame a spirited Chicago Fire side 1-0 on Wednesday, the first of two meetings between the two this week.

Gregg Berhalter’s side (7-7-6, 27 points) now climb to second in the Eastern Conference, eight points adrift of leaders D.C. United, while Frank Yallop’s Fire (5-10-3, 18 points) remain rooted to the foot of the table with their fifth home defeat of the season in front of a crowd of 14,092 at Toyota Park.

The Montreal Impact cooled off red-hot Columbus Crew SC with two quick first-half strikes, winning 3-0 at Saputo Stadium on Saturday night.

Goals from Dominic Oduro and Marco Donadel in the game’s first eight minutes halted Montreal’s three-game winless run and handed Columbus their first MLS loss in more than a month. Oduro added his second of the game with 10 minutes remaining.
