Hannover 96
Hi fans,
As youāve probably heard, Iāll be joining German Bundesliga side Hannover 96 for the next three years. I want to thank everyone at Middlesbrough, including my former teammates and our supporters for five fantastic years. Since Iām in the middle of moving right now, Iāll keep this short, but Iāll come up with a more elaborate blog entry soon.
Yours,
Emanuel
That's Dedication!
EMANUEL POGTATETZ'S dedication during his rehab from a serious knee injury sets an example to every young professional, says Gareth Southgate.
The Austria captain has not played in the first team since a summer knee operation but after putting in many grueling hours in the gym he has now begun his comeback with several Reserve team appearances.
His latest run out came at Billingam Synthonia's Central Avenue yesterday, as he helped Boro to a 2-0 half-time lead against Bradford City Reserves before being withdrawn at the interval due to slight tightness in his hamstring.
Southgate is already looking forward to welcoming the 26-year-old defender back into the first team squad once he gains full match fitness.
"Manny is progressing well but we have to build him up slowly because of the type of injury it was," he said.
Despite his injury, Pogatetz has continued to be a good influence on the club's emerging stars, not least with his determination to fight his way back to fitness.
Known for his commitment on the field, his manager says the youngsters would do well to note the way he looks after himself off it.
"He's a dedicated professional," said Southgate.
"He is so motivated and so responsive to everything that's asked of him. He'd never shy away from anything that he's asked to do.
"In fact, there's more of a danger of him doing too much.
"Rehab goes through different phases, but a few weeks ago he was coming in for an 8am run on his own, training with the team from 10.30am, then he'd be in the gym in the afternoon.
"Our young players should note the sort of sacrifices that Poggy makes.
"He's a good example to have around, as is Danny Coyne, who always spends extra time in the gym because he knows exactly what his body needs after a career in the game."
Burn Out
Sad news, everyone! Unfortunately, I recently underwent surgery and I will have to miss out the rest of the season.
I already informed the Austrian manager Didi Constantini of the recent developments, and we both decided that there is no reason to nominate me for the match against Serbia.
The whole situation is truly disappointing and frustrating, especially at this important time of the season.
The injury, which I suffered at the begin of the current season, never had the chance to heal properly, and it basically got worse with each match. Hence, I wasnāt able to play the way I used to in the last couple of months, since I had to take several breaks from training.
The last weeks have been especially frustrating for me, because I wasnāt able to help the team on the pitch, although I tried to give me best for both Boro and Austria.
Over the course of the next week, the physiotherapists and the operating surgeon are going to closely observe my healing process, in order to establish a solid basis for the following regeneration phase.
Again, I will consult Team Altis in Treibach-Althofen (AU), and I will work closely with Dr. Georg Lajtai and my personal trainer Christoph Kopeinig to get back in shape as quickly as possible.
Of course I hope that everything will turn out fine, and that I can regain my strength and fitness until the start of next season.
At last, Iām still hoping for a positive result against Newcastle on Monday, so that we manage to stay in the Premier League. As far as the national team goes, Iām looking forward to the match against Serbia, and Iām sure, that the match in Belgrade will be a positive experience for all of our younger players.
Yours, Emanuel
Happy new year to all of you.
Happy new year to all of you, I hope you had a great start!
Unfortunately I had to miss the match against West Brom, but what hurts even more is the final result.
If everything turns out fine, I should be able to be back for the next game, as I only had a minor hamstring injury, which caused me to miss the game.
Of course our current situation is far from good. We havenāt won a game for a quite a while now, and are now facing relegation (again). The fact that we have to play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next week doesnāt make things better, but all in all, Iām confident that we can avoid the relegation.
There is also an international match coming up, to which I really look forward to. After all, it is going to take place in my birthplace Graz, where I had a fantastic time playing for both Sturm and GAK. Also, I had to miss the last international against Turkey, so Iām happy to be back this time.
At last, a huge thanks to all of my fans writing me! I try my best to fulfill all autograph requests as quick as possible, and Iām glad that my fans in China also finally received their autographs!
It is nice to see so many Austrian fans supporting Boro, and visiting our games as well!
Yours,
Emanuel
Collateral ligament injury
Unfortunately, I had to call off my involvement in the international friendly match against Turkey because of an injury in my left knee.
Of course it would have been nice to play against my Boro teammate Tuncay Sanli, but it simply was not possible for me to attend. I hope that the injury will wear off within the next week, so that I am ready for action as soon as possible.
Besides that, thing are going fine. Boro is in the upper half of the table , and our next two matches are at home, so I hope we can collect more points to settle in the top half.
I would also like to thank everyone for their autograph requests via the contact form! I am trying to get back to everyone as soon as I can.
Sincerely, Emanuel

Season Kick-Off 08/09
After the EURO 2008 in Austria and a short holiday break, we are looking forward to the upcoming season, which starts this week in England, so I think it is time for another blog post.
A lot has been happening in the meantime ā both in the national team and at Boro.
After our appealing performance in the EURO, the Austrian team found a new manager with Karel Brückner, and Iām looking forward to work with him. He has a lot of experience and expertise with major tournaments, and Iām certain that he can add an extra āsparkā to our team, so that we can qualify for the upcoming world championships.
Boro has seen new faces as well, as some players left the team and new ones came. I think we have a very young, but very talented squad this time, and Iām positive that we can end up in the top 10, as long as we stay out of injury-related problems.
This is going to be my first season as captain, and I hope to represent my team as good as I can, on and off the pitch. Iām really happy that manager Gareth Southgate picked me, because I want to help him to bring the club ā according to his own philosophy ā further up the ladder. That means to go into the Premiership 08/09 with a young, dynamic team, willing to get the chance to play in an international competition next year. I also hope that we can show more of our attractive offensive play, in order to keep teams under pressure and to make them react to our strategy and no the other way around.
At last, the fans will play another very important part in our plan, and I hope (and think) that we can count on them again this time!
Your Emanuel
Good time to change your name from Mad Dog to Emanuel.
Good luck this season as captain and remain true to those that love and support you.

International Comeback!
There couldnāt have been a better opportunity for me to give my comeback in the Austrian dress as in a game against Germany. Although the trip to Vienna and back to Middlesbrough was exhausting to say the least (I lost my bag on the way, and the journey back home took me ten hours), I am very glad to be back in the Austrian squad. Playing in front of 48.000 people at Ernst-Happel-Stadion is something special!
I was overwhelmed to sing our national anthem right there on the pitch. Since Gyƶrgy Garics was injured, I had to play in our newly formed defensive line, along with Prƶdl and Stranzl, and we did quite a good job.
Iāve been looking forward to this game for weeks, and I was not the least bit nervous. Everyone worked hard, and Iām proud of the way we played and acted, especially in the first half and the beginning of the second. Germany can be lucky that they entered the break with a 0-0.
However, looking back it wasnāt all good: After 60 minutes, the game shifted, and we had to pay tribute for the pace during the first half. It became clear that we were not strong and fit enough for 90 minutes yet. Germany, on the other hand, was able to keep up, especially after they took the lead. If we had used one of our many chances, maybe the result would have looked different. Surely, I am a bit disappointed, because the result was highly undeserved in the end.
Still, we showed that we are able to play football and keep up with a team like Germany. We have to use our chances and increase our fitness, and I think the match gave us a lot of motivation and hope. I told my teammates that we do not need to hide from anyone, and not to be scared of big names.
The 0:3 was undeserved, but it was only a friendly match after all...it is in june when it counts.

My way to EURO 2008
Iām very proud to be back in the Austrian national team after one and a half years. My former international career has not always been easy, as you might know.
Right from the very start I and manager Hans Krankl had to take a lot of beating: Many journalists deemed me not good enough, but Hans Krankl believed in me nonetheless. For an inexperienced player like me, the situation was tough, because young players need encouragement and self-confidence, both of which I lacked at that time, and I carried a heavy load. However, I think that after all, my international career turned out quite well, despite the difficulties in the past.
Speaking of difficulties, there have been quite a few. For instance, the booking I received against Northern Ireland, which meant that I had to miss the first two matches of the Euro. This certainly affected my performance, and the physical adjustment to the Premier League took its toll as well. Admittedly, my performance under coach Hickersberger has not always been great. In the end, I was so frustrated that I got kicked out of the national team.
The time after I left hasnāt been easy either, because I learned a lot in the English Premier League, improved my game and fitness, but I was unable to show the progress to my fans at home. Just as I was on top of my game, I could not share it with anyone in Austria.
The next blow was just around the corner: I injured both my knees, just as the FIFA decided to change their rules, which meant that I could serve my two-match sentence during friendlies before the Euro. Even the manager promised me a comeback - but my knees didnāt. At that point, I was not even sure if I can play the Euro at all. Nobody was able to give a proper prognosis regarding my injury, and so time was slipping through my fingers, leading to the toughest time of my career.
It has to be said, that being Austrian does not make things easier. I had to work for every little bit during my career, because Austrian football players just donāt have the reputation of players from Germany or France, as silly as it may sound.
So I tried the impossible: After my first surgery in England, I was looking for the best specialists for knee injuries there is: With the help of my friend Armin Assinger, who, as a skier, already had every possible knee injury on earth (and is still walking), I found ALTIS, a centre for sports medicine in Althofen.
With lots of blood, sweat and tears (my physiotherapy went from 6am till 5pm), the help of team Altis and the support of Christoph Kopeinig, who accompanied me back to Middlesbrough and is now my personal physiotherapist, I was able to play again after āonlyā three months ā the light at the end of the tunnel.
Gareth Southgate immediately gave me the opportunity to play the Premier League after my recovery, and so I could serve my sentence in the internationals against England and Tunisia. It was a great feeling, although I was a bit sad not to be able to play against England.
After this unusual way to the EURO 2008, I hope that everything will turn out fine now. Because of my injury, I still lack proper fitness, and the schedule at the Euro is packed. But all this ādoesnāt matterā, as Hans Krankl would say, as long as Iām able to play against Germany. The joy, the pride and everything else will give me such a rush that Iāll be able to play 2x 90 min⦠or at least I hope so :-)
Of course Iām going to try to integrate as good as possible into the team. There has been quite a development, and it is up to me to fit in. After all, nothing is more important than the team.

Blackburn Rovers 1 ā Boro 1
During our draw against Blackburn I received a very special honour: I was handed the captaincy, after Julio Arca had to be replaced in half-time due to an injury. It was a very special occasion for me, but unfortunately the match did not end quite the way we expected ā considering the way we played and the numerous chances we had, we definitely deserved 3 points. Still, Iām looking forward to the next Premier League match against Wigan, and a tough, but hopefully fair, challenge with Paul Scharner. But first we have to play FA Cup against Mansfield Town on Saturday.

Boro ā Liverpool 1:1
Because of a viral disease, which Iāve carried around with me for the whole week, I had to cancel the match against Liverpool. Until Friday I hoped to be fit enough to play, but in the end I had to accept that it is simply not possibly. Of course I followed the match at home, and I really like to congratulate the team for this excellent match! Sure, it was against the run of play when Liverpool drew level, but after all a draw against Liverpool is not bad at all. I will return to the team on Monday, and I expect to be back in shape until next weekend when weāre up against Blackburn.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
I hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas and a good start in 2008!
Me personally I had a lot going on, because besides celebrating Christmas with my family we had to play five matches within 15 days, including the first FA Cup match against Bristol City on January 5th.
I think last year has been a success, both privately and professionally speaking, although I encountered some setbacks because of my injury. For 2008 I hope to climb up in the table with Boro, and to play a successful Euro with the Austrian team. Of course I also hope that my kids and family stay healthy, and that everyone will have a beautiful year.
Of course thatās what I wish for my fans as well. Have a great time guys!

Austrian team
After all the differences of opinions and disagreements I had with the ĆFB in the past, I will finally give my comeback for the Austrian team. However, I wonāt be playing against England and Tunisia yet, because I have to serve my sentence, which dates back to 2005. Iād like to thank everyone who made this possible, especially Josef Hickersberger, who asked me to come back despite our disagreements in the past. I promise to support the national team and the ĆFB as good as I can in the future.
On Tuesday, I played with Boroās reserve team against Manchester United, and I was able to play for full 90 minutes. I encountered no problems, neither injury nor fitness wise, and I hope to be in the pool of players for the match against Bolton this weekend.
I think that Iāll be back in shape after the forthcoming internationals, and ready to play the first Premier League game of this season.
All the best for the Austrian team in the next two matches!

First test match after surgery
I am really relieved and happy: 12 weeks after my knee surgery, and after countless days of physical therapy, I played my first
match with the Reserve team. I played for 60 minutes without any problems; both of my kneecaps were free of pain, and the only negative thing I could tell was my lack of fitness and match practice. If everything continues the way it does, I will soon play my first Premier League match of this season.
Oh, and by the way: We won 4-1 against Bradford City.

First week of training with the team
I felt good during the team training after my injury, and my knees seem to withstand the pressure. Unfortunately I had a bit of a cold on Thursday, and had to cancel training on Friday. I'm feeling better now and will continue training this week.

Training with the team
Starting next week, I'll be joining the rest of the team for training, and I am really looking forward to it. I can't say for sure when I'm going to play my first match of the current Premiership season, but I hope that I can quickly catch up with the others and that my knees withstand the pressure. Of course I'll also continue my physiotherapy next week.
Your "Mad-Dog" Emanuel
Hurry back Poggy we need you. I travelled 5 hous on Saturday to watch Boro play and I am concerned.
The stadium was so quiet and the performance was flat. We have no leader or inspiration on the park. Wish the lads well for me and I look forward to seeing you back for Boro SOON!!
The second phase of my rehabilitation
The second phase of my rehabilitation program went very well, and my work with Team Altis has come to an end. My physiotherapist Christoph Kopeinig went back from Middlesbrough to Althofen on Friday, after staying with me the last two weeks for intensive training, but a lot of fun as well. I'd like to thank Team Altis once again for their support and work. Now I'm working with the physiotherapists of my team. I also started running again. The final examination on Monday turned out to be really positive, and according to Doc Bollen I'm now allowed to fully weight my knees. However, I will have to find the right dosage first. The most important thing is to gain physical fitness, so that I can return to the team in about two weeks. I also had some free time in the last week, in which I build a trampoline for my daughter (well, the whole family actually) in our garden. Sometimes it feels that this kind of work is more demanding than my physiotherapy, but my daughter loves it. I'm really sorry not to play in the next two internationals, but my nomination would have been unjustified due to my current lack of fitness. I'm still looking forward to the match against England though!

Austria celebrates the new European Championship arena
Me and my wife Mirjam were both attending the opening of the new European Championship arena in Waidmannsdorf on Friday evening. The new stadium is certainly one of the most beautiful in Europe, and the crowd is really close to the pitch, which makes it a great experience even if the match is not as good as expected.
We were happy to meet old friends such as Reiner Calmund, Armin Assinger and Mario Haas during the course of the evening. Surely it is a pity that the atmosphere was at low ebb, but the match against Japan simply gave no opportunity to cheer. Nonetheless, I'm positive that we win against Chile on Tuesday!
It was great that my physiotherapists of Team Altis, Christoph Kopeinig and Uwe Ehlers, accompanied me. I'd like to thank them for their work, since I'll return to Middlesbrough on September 17th to start with the first running exercises. Christoph Kopeinig will work with me for another two weeks after that., for which I have to thank medical director Dr. Georg Lajtai, who made it possible for one of the Altis physicians to continue therapy with me in England.

Hallo Poga!
Poga, I am your admirer.
You are a great player.
I am sure that, Austria, will have a good performance in the next one Euro cup!

Dr. Bollen certifies huge progress in therapy!
During my routine check-up in Bradford, Dr. Bollen attested me that I am making huge progress. I am really glad that my tough and extensive rehabilitation program with
Team Altis paid off so far. Of course the medical department and managers in Middlesbrough, especially Gareth Southgate, were happy as well, and in consultation with head of physiotherapy Grant Downie, they expect me to be back on September 17th. It was also great to meet my fellow team players again after the break. In the evening I had the chance to catch the team live in a Carling Cup match against Northampton Town. It has been a great feeling to be among our fans at Riverside, even though I had to watch the match from the stands. We won the match 2-0 in the end, making it the perfect ending of a perfect day.
The return journey to Austria was quite troublesome, as I had to leave Teesside really late because of my check-up. I arrived in Munich at about 10.30 pm, and was home around 4 am, after a long car ride. Unfortunately I had to get up at 6.30 again to resume my rehab program at 7.30 in Treibach Althofen. It had been eight hours of tiresome training, but every day is bringing me closer to my comeback, so I didn't want to cancel.
Being back in Austria, I can intensify my daily training quota. Thanks to Doc Bollan's decision I am able to put more strain on my knees - two weeks earlier than expected! I can now bend my legs up to 90 degrees and start with cycling and aqua jogging, as well as complex muscle and stamina exercises. Since I could only bend my legs up to 60 degrees for three weeks I lost quite a bit of muscle mass, so this sort of training is extremely important to get back in shape. My physiotherapists Christoph Kopeinig, Mario Kabon and Uwe Ehlers told me that I will quickly make up for it. I'm looking forward to the second phase of rehab, and can't wait to get back into training with the team. I know that there is still a lot of work ahead of me, but for some reason'I quite enjoy that :)
Tomorrow, September 2nd, I'll be on "Talk and Tore" on Premiere as well as on "Sport am Sonntag" on ORF. I'll be talking about myself, my injury and the International team, so tune in!

Ready to play in European Championship
The message that I am able to serve my two-game sentence, which I received in the World Cup qualifying against Northern Ireland, during friendly matches before the European Championships struck me completely out of the blue!
I've had a long day, since I had to get up really early to travel to Middlesbrough, where my injured knees will undergo another check-up in the next two days, and after which I will discuss the rest of my rehabilitation program with my manager and physiotherapist. I'm convinced that everything heals according to plan, because I worked with the Altis Team in Althofen for 8 hours a day for my recovery. I can't wait for Dr. Bollan to give me permission to put more weight on my knees, and to proceed with a tougher training.
My journey started at 6:30 am in Pƶrtschach, from where I drove by car to Munich, and then via Amsterdam to Teesside. After my arrival around 6 pm, I switched on my mobile phone and received a new message. The ĆFB (Austrian football association) informed me that I can serve my sentence before the Euro 2008! I've never given up hope, and during the last weeks the situation about my sentence has become quite a farce. I've been in contact with the ĆFB all the time, so I knew that the FIFA was about to announce a decision very soon. Gigi Ludwig called me at a time, and told me that it looks good, but nothing is definite yet. But finally this annoying discussion has come to an end! Now I will work even harder on my comeback, so that I can play for the Austrian international team again. It will be a long and difficult path back into the team and to Euro 2008, but I'm a 100% sure that this is going to be an once-in-a-lifetime experience, because we can positively change a whole football nation.
Finally I'd like to thank all the guy who made the positive decision concerning my sentence possible, especially Gigi Ludwig and Josef Hickersberger, who trusted in me despite former disagreements.
Your "Mad Dog" Emanuel
Progressing therapy
The therapy which I am undergoing since three weeks is working perfectly so far. Thanks to various stabilization exercises, I am able to weight my knees again, but I have to be careful not to bend my joints too much, because an angle of more than 60 degrees results in pain and prevents the healing process.
Other important aspects of my rehabilitation program involve muscle and balance exercises. The former prevent muscular atrophy, which always happens during such an injury, but it also exercises the muscles inside the knee joints. The latter are mainly to maintain and improve my general feeling of movement.
All in all I'm very pleased with my progress, and I'll try to return to the team, who has just earned their first points against Fulham, as soon as possible.
Your "Mad Dog" Emanuel
Take your time Mad Dog, we want you back playing for the Boro but more importantly you need to look after yourself.
Good luck on the rehab.

Rehabilitation in Austria
Since I can't help my team right now at the start of the season because of my knee injury, I decided to fly back to Austria last week in order to prepare my comeback here in Carinthia. I'm undergoing a treatment- and rehabilitation program in Treibach-Althofen. Team "Altis" is supporting me daily from 8 till 3:30 in the afternoon until I return to England on August 28th, where I have to get my kneecaps checked in Bradford again. If the treatment is working properly, and the healing process proceeds the way it should, I'll be going back to Austria on August 30th to continue the program.
Your "Mad Dog" Emanuel
Successful surgery
On the day of surgery I had to travel to Bradford at 5 in the morning, as my surgery was scheduled for 9 o'clock. The attending surgeon was Dr. Bollen, a well respected specialist for knee injuries, and he did a great job: I can immediately start with the rehabilitation program, and I don't have to go on crutches, as long as I don't put a heavy strain on my knees. That's why I'll start with some water exercises in the next few weeks, and hopefully I'll be able to run again in about six weeks. If everything turns out the way I want it to, I should be celebrating my comeback in ten to twelve weeks - an important phase of the premiership.
Your "Mad Dog" Emanuel
Injury - 12 weeks break
I already felt some pain in my knee during the training camp in Austria, and unfortunately it has gotten worse during last week. I received the bad news after a proper examination by my doctor: Surgery is absolutely needed on both my kneecaps (patella)! After surgery, I will have to face a break of at least 12 weeks before I can continue with football.
Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning (August 2nd). Afterwards, my kneecaps will be checked again in order to create an appropriate rehabilitation program. I probably won't be able to drive for two weeks and I'll have to walk on crutches. Of course this injury is a huge disappointment for me, and even more for the team, which has lost their third central defender in me, after Huth and Riggott.
Despite all the bad news, I won't stick my head in the sand. If I work myself through the rehabilitation phase until Christmas, I'm sure that I'll be fit by then and return stronger than ever before! It is really important for me that my family has returned from Austria as well, because in this difficult time I can use every support there is to fight myself back to the top.
Your "Mad Dog" Emanuel
Get Well ASAP mate devistated that u picked up the knock, the defence will really miss you!
Two more trial matches and our newcomers
After our return from the training camp in Austria, we had to face two further trial matches. I had to miss the first one in and against Burnley, because my knee injury made itself felt again. However, I was able to play against Darlington (League Two) yesterday (July 24th) from the beginning. I didn't want to put too great a strain on the knee, so I only played the first 60 minutes, mostly free of pain. I can still feel the injury, but until the start of the season everything should be cured.
I can imagine that it would be interesting for some fans to know how our new players fit into the team, so I will say a few words about them: All in all I have to admit that, despite the departure of Viduka, our team has increased in quality. Turkish international Sanli Tuncay is an excellent number 10; He is incredibly dynamic, with an eye for critical situations, and he is able to play quick and dangerous whenever it's needed.
Our new defender, Luke Young, who came from Charlton Athletic, made a strong impression as well. He already has a few caps for England, and he will surely strengthen our defense. His experience as a captain for Charlton also shows his strength of character.
By and large, I think we are stronger and more unpredictable than last season if we take our newcomers into account, and I'm looking forward to the start of the new season.

Trial match against Hertha BSC Berlin
After the defeat against Schalke 04, we showed an improved performance on tuesday against Hertha BSC Berlin. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, but we were the better team. I had to watch the match from the bench, as I felt a minor straining in my knee during monday's training session, and the manager decided not to take any risk and to spare me. On wednesday afternoon we will return to England, and the next training session is already scheduled for friday. Our next trial match will be against Burnsley on saturday, and I hope to be fit enough to play by then.

Pre season game vs Schalke 04
The last days before our match against Schalke 04 were marked by hard training as expected, and as if that wasn't enough I tore open the skin above my eyebrow in a duel with David Weather. Luckily the gash could be fixed with only four stitches, so that I was able to play against the German runner-up.
The match itself was literally hot: 35 degrees in the shade, which felt more like 50 on the pitch. We lost 3-0 in the end, but yet we are pleased with our performance. One has to keep in mind that Schalke is almost finished with its preparations for the forthcoming season, while we are right in the middle of it.
Since some of our defenders, like Chris Riggott and Robert Huth, are still troubled with injuries and not on top of their strength yet, only me and fellow centre-back David Weather were able to go over the full distance, while the others had to stick with one half each.
Sunday after the match we were allowed to regenerate our bodies in the swimming pool, so that we can pick up training again on Monday and play our next preparatory match on Tuesday against Hertha BSC Berlin.

Start of training camp
On Monday, July 9th we arrived in Graz around 3 pm, where we had to take another bus to the training center in Bad Waltersdorf. To get rid of the tiredness caused by the travel, we decided to do a pool session first, and the recreational training in the water indeed helped our muscles to relax.
The next day we started our "proper" training, and we had to get up early at 8 in order to start with a training run. We had another short one-hour training session just before lunch, and the last one took place from 4.30 till 6 pm. That's more or less our agenda for the next nine days.
Although the training is hard, the environment couldn't be better: The pitches are in great condition, the food is delicious, and my teammates discovered a true Styrian culinary specialty: Pumpkin seed oil, which they use enthusiastically.
I'll try to inform you about the rest of the training in the next couple of days, so stay tuned!
Your "Mad Dog" Emanuel
Pumpkin seed oil? No way, I didn't know it was so freely available in Austria I thought it was a rare expensive product only available to the elite!
Anyway, make sure you're working hard while you're there. We want to see the results when you get back and the season starts!

First week of training
First of all I would like to thank all fans and friends who wrote me in this short time. I'm glad to see that the guestbook is used, and of course I'm looking forward to more entries and comments.
The first week of training for the new season is completed, and as expected it was a tough one: We concentrated on power- and fitness training, including several interval runs. Luckily we were able to do some relieving exercise with the ball in between, which was fun after the long summer break.
The training quota was quite high, and now I'm awaiting the forthcoming weekend to get some rest, before we leave for the training camp in Bad Waltersdorf (AUT). Although the team is highly motivated, we are a bit scared as well, because we expect at least three hard training units each day. But of course that's the price you pay if you want to be successful.
Your "Mad Dog" Emanuel
You're a hard man Pogi, I'm sure you can take it!

My new blog launches!
I am glad that my own professional website is finally finished and ready to go online. This will be a great opportunity for fans and everyone else interested to stay in touch with my career as a professional football player and to take a look at my personal life.
I will try to update this website regularly, and I'd be happy to read any kind of feedback and opinions coming from your side , there are plenty of opportunities to get in touch, and of course I will try to answer as many questions as possible.
Your "Mad Dog" Emanuel
The defending you give to Boro is well respected and that was obvious last season with you winning the supporters player of the season award.
Even as a defender you score some superb goals so I can't wait to see more this season and to see the celebration pose when you do!
Have a great season and with your continued improvement, loyalty and determination I'm sure it won't be long before you are captain of Boro and your country!!

First of all, what a great website, keep up the good work. Also, i'll be getting my first season ticket next season, last season you were tremendous, you were my favourite player alongside Arca, the defending you offer is brilliant and you can header the ball very well (especially scoring from them). I look forward to seeing you play next season.
